Rocksteady Studios was reportedly developing an original multiplayer game prior to working on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
After the release of Batman Arkham Knight in 2015, Rocksteady began working on Batman: Arkham VR and a previously unreported multiplayer game based in an original franchise.
Batman: Arkham Origins and Gotham Knights studio Warner Bros. Montreal reportedly had a Suicide Squad game cancelled at the end of 2016, and the property was later offered to Rocksteady.
Rocksteady started working on Kill the Justice League the following year. No further details were offered about the shelved, original multiplayer game.
Contrary to reports, Bloomberg also claims that Rocksteady never pitched or worked on a Superman game.
Following several delays, the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League release date is February 2, 2024. At launch, the game will require an online connection to play, but Rocksteady recently confirmed plans to introduce an offline mode post-release.
