Leaked Concord Build From November 2023 Shows Fragmented Game
Video Games Chronicle (VGC) shared that they acquired an early build of Sony’s shooter game, Concord. The build is dated November 14, 2023, nearly nine months before the game’s final release in August 2024.
This build, codenamed FWChaos, appears to be only a fragment of the game’s full content — Firewalk Studios likely had several builds covering different parts of the game before combining everything later in development.
The leaked FWChaos build includes a login screen built for PlayStation systems. While you can bypass the login using a developer’s special .ini file, you cannot progress beyond the “Select Freegunner” character selection screen. The game itself isn’t playable.
Despite the limited access, VGC discovered that from the main menu, you can navigate to other parts of the game, including a partially completed Galactic Guide and Crew Section.
These menus let you view details about each playable Freegunner character, their outfits, and variants, plus information about planets in the game’s galaxy.
No Cutscenes or Complete Content Found
Interestingly, FWChaos does not contain any of the rumoured weekly cutscenes, which fans speculated might number in the double digits.
Sony spent around $400 million making Concord, but it only lasted about two weeks after release because very few people played it. The game was removed from stores, and refunds were given to everyone who bought it.
Well, given Sony’s quick shutdown of Concord and refunding of all players, it’s very unlikely more complete builds will ever surface. The report shows just how unfinished the game was months before its disastrous launch and the closure of Firewalk Studios.
This leak offers a rare look behind the scenes of what became one of Sony’s most expensive and shortest-lived failures.
