The Honkai Star Rail community is abuzz with excitement as HoYoverse has been dropping major news recently. And in addition to these revelations, new leaks have shown possible future banner characters for versions 2.0 and 2.1. Although HoYoverse has not yet acknowledged the leaks, they did reveal the new characters all set to release in the upcoming months.

Here is all that we know about Honkai Star Rail 2.0 banners and Honkai Star Rail 2.1 banners.

Honkai Star Rail 2.0 Banners

Following the Penacony trailer, three new characters—Sparkle, Black Swan, and Misha—featured in the latest Drip Marketing campaign are expected to be part of the HSR 2.0 banners. In addition, the 2.0 version will have some amazing QoL enhancements along with new missions and events.

But the banners are the main focus here. The leaks indicate that when Honkai Star Rail 2.0 starts in mid-February 2024, it will include two phases of character banners with two rerun characters and two new ones.

HSR 2.0 Banner Phase 1:

This phase includes a Jing Yuan rerun banner and the new Valkyrie, Black Swan. Jing Yuan is a potent Ice DPS capable of inflicting Freeze, while Black Swan utilizes the new Luna Kindred power and can summon minions.

HSR 2.0 Banner Phase 2:

The second phase of HSR 2.0 banners features a rerun of Lightning DPS Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae as well as the debut of the Mystic power type, Sparkle.

HSR 2.0 Light Cone Banners

In addition to the new characters, the Honkai Star Rail 2.0 banner also introduces two new 5-star light cones that will be the signature Black Swan and Sparkle weapons. These two new light cones “Reforged Remembrance” (Black Swan) and “Earthly Escapade” (Sparkle) come with unique effects, enhancing the wearer’s abilities.

Black Swan

Wind Damage is the type of damage dealt by the 5-star Nihility character – Black Swan. She will have a potent DPS kit and be a DoT character. The main use of Black Swan’s kit is to give DoT damage to opponents by using her unique debuff, Sacrament, which is dependent on Black Swan’s Attack. According to her lore, Black Swan is the Garden of Recollection’s Memokeeper. Apart from that, she is said to have a kind smile and to regard others’ comments with patience, using them as a reason to access memories.

Sparkle

The second new 5-star character to appear on the Honkai Star Rail 2.0 banner is Sparkle, a Harmony unit employing the Quantum damage type. She will be a unit that gains skill points and increases the team’s total attack and critical damage. She will undoubtedly be a fantastic addition to the Qingque teams. According to her lore, Sparkle is a member of the Masked Fools and a deadly theatric master who also aspires to join the Genius Society. She is characterized as a woman with numerous masks and many faces.

Misha

The last character to join the HSR 2.0 banner is Misha. An Ice damage type unit with four stars in the Destruction path. His kit includes a potent Ultimate multi-hit strike that has a high probability of freezing opponents. According to his lore, Misha works as a bellhop at Penacony’s The Reverie Hotel and enjoys spreading interplanetary gossip to his customers. He is a dedicated worker who knows how to fix a variety of machinery. In addition, Misha’s grandfather was a space explorer.

Honkai Star Rail 2.1 Banners

Now next up is the HSR 2.1 update, scheduled for release in March to mid-April 2024. Previously two of the next banner characters were leaked, however, HoYoverse has now announced that there will be three new playable characters in Honkai Star Rail 2.1 Banners—Acheron, Aventurine, and Gallagher.

HSR 2.1 Banner Phase 1:

The first phase of the HSR 2.1 banner introduces Aventurine, and while her abilities remain undisclosed, she adds intrigue to the upcoming content.

HSR 2.1 Banner Phase 2:

The second phase banner is rumored to feature Acheron, however, the reruns for the 2.1 update are yet to be confirmed.

New Characters in Honkai Star Rail 2.1 Banner

Acheron

Acheron, a 5-star Lightning character, follows the path of Nihility and is associated with the Galaxy Rangers. Described as a lone voyager with a long sword, she explores the cosmos, striking with her blade like lashing lightning. Her real name is unknown, and she travels the universe by herself with a long sword. Allegra Clark does the English voice-over, while Miyuki Sawashiro does the Japanese voice for Acheron.

Aventurine

Aventurine is the second new character of HSR 2.1 Banner. He is a 5-star Imaginary unit who is on the Preservation path. According to his lore, Aventurine is a senior manager in the IPC Strategic Investment Department. His Cornerstone is an “Aventurine of stratagems,” and he thrives on risk-taking and high-stakes investments. People find it hard to figure out what his genuine feelings are because of his never-ending smile. In English, Aventurine is voiced by Camden Sutkowski, and in Japanese, by Kengo Kawanishi.

Gallagher

Gallagher is the last new character on the HSR 2.1 banner. He follows the Preservation’s path and is a 4-star Fire unit. According to his lore, Gallagher serves as a security officer of the Bloodhound Family at Penacony. A slovenly mixologist with a complicated past, he brings a unique flair to the roster. Despite his informal drink preparation and disorganized wardrobe, he always greets guests with courtesy while maintaining a watchful eye. Erik Braa provides the English voice of Gallagher, while Satoshi Mikami, who is well-known for playing Akechi Mitsuhide is the Japanese voice actor.

As is the case with all leaks, these new HSR 2.0 and 2.1 banner leaks, while subject to change, offer early insights into the upcoming characters and potential meta in future Honkai Star Rail versions.
