Metal Gear Online Teased During State of Play
The latest trailer for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater dropped during the PlayStation State of Play and has fans buzzing.
While the game stays true to the original story, it now features updated visuals and modern gameplay. But the most exciting part? A mysterious multiplayer mode that strongly hints at the return of Metal Gear Online.
Multiplayer Sneak Peek Looks Like Metal Gear Online
Near the end of the trailer, viewers saw a camouflaged player pick up a green frog before expertly blending into the gravel. Another armed character strolled past, clearly unaware. The scene felt very much like a stealth-based multiplayer mode—similar to the prop hunt mechanics in other games, but with the tactical flair of Metal Gear Online.
Though Konami hasn’t confirmed it by name, this looks like a strong return for fans of the original PlayStation 3 spin-off.
Snake vs Monkey Mode and Xbox’s Bomberman Surprise
The trailer also confirmed the revival of the Snake vs Monkey mini-game for PS5 and Steam players. Originally included in the classic versions, this fun side mode has Snake catching Ape Escape monkeys.
Meanwhile, Xbox players will get a unique mode featuring Bomberman, though more details will be revealed during Xbox’s Summer Games Fest showcase.
