Stephen A. Chang Confirms Role in Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet

Stephen A. Chang, best known to gamers as Jesse from The Last of Us Part II, has officially confirmed that he’s working on Naughty Dog’s next major title, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. In a new interview, Chang shared that he recently began filming for the game, and like many fans, he remains largely in the dark about the full story.

Naughty Dog Keeps Details Tight

According to Chang, Naughty Dog is intentionally limiting how much information even the actors receive. “What I know about it is probably as much as you guys,” he explained, noting that actors are being given snippets of the script, often out of sequence. This secrecy follows the studio’s efforts to avoid leaks, especially after The Last of Us Part II suffered massive story leaks ahead of release.

A Mysterious Role Amid a Star-Studded Cast

While his exact role is still a mystery, clues from the game’s reveal trailer suggest that Chang might be playing a member of a group known as “The Five Aces.” In a brief scene, he’s seen seated at a table alongside other characters, including ones portrayed by Kumail Nanjiani, Tony Dalton, and Ashley Scott. If true, Chang may be part of a central storyline involving criminal pursuits and the game’s lead, Jordan A. Mun (played by Tati Gabrielle).

Chang Believes the Game Is a Big Deal

Despite the limited information, Chang has full faith in the project. “It’s going to be the next big thing,” he said confidently. He also admitted feeling humbled by the caliber of the cast, joking that he felt like “a small fish” compared to the talent around him.

No Release Date Yet, But 2027 Rumored

Naughty Dog has yet to confirm an official release date for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, but rumors suggest a 2027 window. Considering filming has just begun for several actors, that timeline seems plausible.
