Ubisoft Milan Developing New AAA Rayman Game, Job Listing Suggests

Summary

  • Ubisoft Milan is hiring for a new AAA Rayman project.
  • Listings suggest the game may be a remake rather than a brand-new title.
  • The team previously worked on Mario + Rabbids, and a Rayman DLC was part of Sparks of Hope.

Rayman’s Return Might Be Closer Than We Thought

After more than a decade of silence, Ubisoft may finally be reviving its classic Rayman franchise. Fresh job listings from Ubisoft Milan strongly suggest that a new AAA Rayman game is in development. While there’s no official announcement yet, the evidence points to a remake of one of the earlier titles, rather than a completely new entry in the series.

Job Listings Reveal AAA Rayman Project in the Works

Ubisoft Milan is hiring a Senior Game Designer and a 3D Gameplay Animator for a project under the Rayman brand. According to the listings, the roles involve crafting polished gameplay systems and animations for a “prestigious AAA title.” The team seeks individuals with experience in game systems, player experience (UX), and animation that captures the iconic feel of the Rayman series.

These listings align with a recent Reddit leak and earlier reports from Insider Gaming claiming that Ubisoft Milan is working on a Rayman remake. This would mark the franchise’s first mainline entry since Rayman Legends debuted in 2013.

Ubisoft Milan’s Rayman Legacy

Ubisoft Milan is best known for their work on Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, the latter of which included a Rayman DLC. That content was well-received and may have helped spark renewed interest in bringing back the beloved platforming mascot.

Rayman’s last full adventure, Rayman Legends, remains a fan-favorite for its tight gameplay and gorgeous art style. With modern consoles in mind, a remake could bring updated visuals and smoother performance while preserving the core that made Rayman a hit in the first place.

Not a New Game, But a Remake?

While some fans might have hoped for an all-new adventure, all signs currently point to a remake of a classic Rayman title. Given Ubisoft’s trend of revisiting older IPs and the language used in job descriptions, this project is likely designed to reintroduce Rayman to a modern audience on current-gen platforms.

If this pans out, Rayman’s comeback could be more than just nostalgia—it could be a full revival. For now, fans can only wait and watch as Ubisoft Milan’s hiring efforts continue.
