Banjo-Kazooie Returns: Insider Reveals New Game in Development

After years of anticipation, a new Banjo-Kazooie game could finally be on the way. Known insider NateDrake on the ResetEra forums has claimed that a Banjo-Kazooie game is in development at Microsoft.

NateDrake didn’t provide many details about the project, but mentioned that it wasn’t officially greenlit until “last year”. He also mentioned that the project is still active, but development can change a lot.

GLAR has yet to independently verify NateDrake’s claims. However, NateDrake has been accurate in the past with their information, including recently regarding the new Arkane Lyon game and a new F-Zero game.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer recently singled out the Banjo-Kazooie franchise and its fans in an interview, hinting at the possibility of revisiting stories and characters that we’ve seen previously.

Banjo-Kazooie hasn’t seen a true main console entry since 2000’s Banjo-Tooie. There were a couple of handheld games in the early-mid 2000s, and Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts in 2008, which was more of a spin-off than a main entry.

With these rumors and statements, fans of Banjo-Kazooie have reason to be hopeful for a new game in the beloved franchise. However, as with all rumors, it’s best to wait for official confirmation.
