Diablo 4 seasons are going to have an updated structure with two notable updates during every season - one big patch during season launch and a smaller but significant patch in the middle of the season.
The first significant update in each season will occur during its launch. This is when major changes will take place, including the addition of new Legendaries and Uniques, balance adjustments to classes, and general updates to existing systems.
Dramatic class changes, such as buffs and nerfs, will accompany these updates. The Diablo 4 team notes that they will avoid sweeping nerfs, having learned from the experience in Season 1.
Regular mid-season updates will aim to provide some additional class balance changes, with very few, if any, nerfs happening. Other things that will be included are regular bug fixes and system updates.
Some additional content could also be added during these updates, with an example being the inclusion of Malignant Rings late into Season 2, for some additional player options and build diversity later into the season.
The Diablo 4 team made a quick summary of all the shared information so far, while also adding that their big focus for the future is to improve their communication towards the community. The developers being able to share their intentions for the future, combined with player feedback, are going to be building blocks for the future of Diablo 4.
