Prominent insider Jez Corden claimed during the latest Xbox Two podcast episode that Microsoft is in talks to bring the port of Final Fantasy 7 Remake over to Xbox Series S|X.
An immediate release of Final Fantasy 7 Remake on Xbox is highly unlikely as Sony and Square Enix would not want to jeopardize the early launch success of the upcoming Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth.
A former ResetEra forum member, Im A Hero Too, previously claimed that FF7 Remake was also allegedly in development for Switch 2 and is expected to arrive as a launch title for Switch 2.
The new rumor by Jez also aligns with claims earlier made by the Xbox brand CEO, Phil Spencer, who has previously expressed that he is often in talks with Square Enix to bring Final Fantasy games to Xbox.
All these rumors should be taken with a grain of salt. We can expect a late 2023 or early 2024 release window for the remake before it arrives on Xbox.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake initially came out for the PlayStation 4 on April 10, 2020, and was a grand success. The action RPG was full of details never explored in the past and fans praised the title for gripping visuals and gameplay.
