The much-anticipated Genshin Impact 4.4 update is set to go live on January 31, 2024. HoYoverse is speculated to introduce two new playable characters - Cloud Retainer and Lion-dance Boy
Lion-dance Boy, inspired by the traditional Chinese Lion dance, and Cloud Retainer are the new faces in the game. Their designs have been shared by GenshinMeow.
Based on past trends, HoYoverse is expected to drip market both characters a couple of days before version 4.3 is released, likely on December 18, 2023.
According to the leaked Lantern Rite event banner, Lion-dance Boy appears to be a Pyro unit and is speculated to be a Catalyst unit. An entity resembling a lion, likely a companion of the Boy, can be seen in the image.
Cloud Retainer, seen in her human form, doesn’t seem to have a Vision, but leaks suggest she is likely to be an Anemo unit.
