MSI’s Dragon Console: Redefining Handheld Gaming

MSI has teased its plans to enter the handheld gaming console market with an upcoming “Dragon” themed design.

The teaser is brief and hints at the design of the upcoming console, which resembles the ASUS ROG Ally and Steam Deck OLED. The dual triggers are lit up by RGB-LEDs, adding to the aesthetics.

MSI seems to be focusing on the exhaust vents, which might highlight the cooling and thermal capabilities of this device. The device features dual black/red tone mesh grills on the back.

A large MSI “Dragon” logo is prominently displayed, which might also come with RGB LED illumination. The tag “True Gaming” is featured on the device.

It’s too early to say whether MSI would go with AMD Ryzen or Intel Core Ultra CPUs to power its handheld gaming console. Both CPUs offer decent integrated graphics capabilities and support for upscaling technologies such as FSR and XeSS.

The device is expected to be fully unveiled at CES 2024, where more details about the device, including its availability and price, will be revealed.
