A Reddit user, Quelanight2324, discovered two LinkedIn job descriptions suggesting that 343 Industries has been working on a new Halo project since April 2022.
Justin Dinges, who has worked on previous Halo titles, is listed as having worked on “Halo’s next unannounced release” as an Art Director between April 2022 and March 2023.
Ian Slutz, a Senior Character Systems Designer for 343 Industries since 2019, has a job description mentioning work on “player systems and assets in Unreal Engine 5
The next Halo title is expected to be built on Unreal Engine 5, suggesting that Ian Slutz could be actively working on the title’s UE5 structure.
In October 2023, during an episode of the gaming podcast SG Bitcast, the site’s editor-in-chief mentioned that a team was “building the next generation of Halo on Unreal”.
Halo Infinite started with a strong multiplayer launch, but quickly lost its appeal for some fans. It remains to be seen how the new project will be received.
