Just months after the successful release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Insomniac Games suffered a major hacking attack. The leak revealed details about their new projects, including their next entry into the Spider-Man series - Venom: Lethal Protector.
Two images were leaked detailing the upcoming Venom: Lethal Protector project. The game is set to take place after Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and will lead into Spider-Man 3, which is planned for release in late 2028.
Players will be able to switch between Venom, Peter, and Miles while navigating through “Carnage-infected NYC boroughs.” The game is described as an “8-10 Hour Stand-alone Experience,” with 12 missions and 3 event bosses.
The game will also feature optional content such as quests, challenges, bases, crimes, and collectibles, similar to their mainline Spider-Man games.
Venom: Lethal Protector is planned for release in the second quarter of 2025, with a price point of $49.99. The game will be exclusive to the PlayStation 5.
The game is expected to be similar to Spider-Man: Miles Morales, serving as a smaller project that leads into the final game of the trilogy. Fans are hopeful that Insomniac recovers from the hack without any project delays.
