Nintendo Switch users are eagerly awaiting news on the remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. The game has been rated ahead of its 2024 release, suggesting that more news may be coming soon.
This isn’t the first time a rating for the game has been spotted. The first one was shared online in October. While a rating doesn’t necessarily mean a release date is imminent, it often indicates that news is near.
The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has shared a rating for the game on its site. The game received an “E” rating, which is not surprising given its nature as a Mario game.
The game is an adventure role-playing game in which players help Mario rescue Princess Peach from an alien group. Players traverse whimsical worlds, interact with characters, and engage in turn-/puzzle-based combat against paper creatures.
Players use various attacks against cartoony enemies that disappear into stars and coins. Some characters engage in brief flirtatious dialogue and/or are designed with large chests/exaggerated proportions.
When Nintendo revealed the remake of the GameCube game, it mentioned that the Nintendo Switch version would have updated graphics. It remains to be seen if Nintendo has anything else planned for the game beyond graphics upgrades.
