Following the release of Persona 3 Reload, credible leaks suggest that Atlus is working on three more remakes of previous Persona titles. This is part of Atlus’s ongoing effort to make the Persona franchise more widely available.
Over the past couple of years, Atlus has not only remade Persona 3 but also ported games like Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal to new platforms. It seems this trend is set to continue, especially with the oldest installments in the series.
According to a user who has accurately leaked Atlus and Sega information in the past, remakes of the original Persona, Persona 2, and Persona 4 are currently in the works at Atlus. However, these remakes won’t be in the same vein as Persona 3 Reload.
Another insider provided more clarity about these potential Persona remakes. The remake of Persona 2 is said to be more of a remaster and would contain both Persona 2: Eternal Punishment and Persona 2: Innocent Sin. This remaster/remake would arrive either the year before or after Persona 6. As for Persona 4, this remake is still in the very early stages.
Given the early success of Persona 3 Reload and the increasing popularity of the Persona franchise since the release of Persona 5, it makes sense for Atlus to continue remaking older Persona games.
There are surely millions of fans around the globe who have yet to play titles like Persona and Persona 2. Therefore, it would be logical for Atlus to bring back these games for new audiences.
