The Last of Us Part II Remastered: A New Challenge Awaits in ‘No Return’ Mode

The Last of Us Part II Remastered will feature a new roguelike survival mode called “No Return”. Players will go on runs with randomized encounters in locations from the main campaign. Naughty Dog senior character artist Del Walker has described the mode as “STRESSFUL”.

In No Return, players can take on the roles of Ellie or Abby in various locations. Runs will end with boss encounters from the main campaign. Players will lose the weapons, items, and upgrades they obtained during a run if they get killed.

The remastered version will take full advantage of the PS5 hardware, offering improved visuals and faster load times. It will also include “Lost Levels”, which are early-development versions of three levels that didn’t make it into the actual campaign.

Some content from the Lost Levels will appear in the second season of HBO’s The Last of Us, according to the game’s creator Neil Druckmann.

Release Date:  The Last of Us Part II Remastered will release on January 19th on PlayStation 5.

The original version of the game, released in 2020, was controversial. While the gameplay received praise, some elements in the story were not as well-received. It will be interesting to see how the remastered version is received.
