On New Year’s Day, a devastating 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck Japan, causing significant damage and loss of life.
The earthquake triggered a small tsunami, flooding land, and prompting Japan’s Self-Defense Forces to double their rescue efforts.
The Pokémon Company announced its decision to donate 50 million JPY (around $345,750) to support those affected by the disaster.
The funds will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross Society and other support organizations to aid in disaster relief and restoration efforts.
Through the Pokémon With You Foundation, the company will continue activities to help affected children regain their smiles.
The Pokémon Company expressed its deepest sympathies and sincere prayers for the earliest possible recovery and reconstruction of the disaster-stricken areas.
