The PS5 Pro is rumored to have a GPU offering 60 CU’s in the full die with Sony planning to disable to 56 CUs. It’s also expected to use 16GB of GDDR6 memory (18Gbps) over a 256-bit bus.
The price for the PS5 Pro could be as low as $500 for a model without a disc drive. The cost to make this Pro model isn’t expected to be drastically more than the current PS5 model cost to make back in 2020.
Launch Date: AMD is said to expect a holiday 2024 launch for the PS5 Pro.
The PS5 Pro could be a very developer-friendly system, requiring little effort from devs to get better performance.
The current PS5 and Xbox Series X have different specs, with the PS5 having a GPU with 36 CUs and the Xbox Series X with 52 CUs. Both use a TSMC 7nm process and have an AMD Zen2 based 8-Core CPU
Sony has yet to officially announce the pro model, but rumors suggest that it will be released by the end of this year
