Upcoming Xbox May Launch After the PlayStation 6

Rumors suggest that the next generation Xbox could be released later than the PlayStation 6. Microsoft has not yet signed a next-gen contract with AMD, unlike Sony.

Microsoft typically shops around each generation to get AMD to lower their prices. This time, however, Microsoft seemed to be more serious in shopping around for their next generation Xbox’s silicon.

Upon learning about Microsoft’s situation, Intel started bidding to produce the silicon for the console. They offered extremely low prices and the full capacity of its fabs, seeing this as an opportunity to salvage Arc and its fabs.

Due to these circumstances, the next generation Xbox may have only recently entered the design phase. This could result in Microsoft releasing the console later than Sony’s next-gen system or rushing its release to launch it together with the competition.

While the door was left open for the next generation Xbox, it wouldn’t have made much sense for the console to be powered by Intel’s silicon, as it could have caused problems for multiplatform releases. It is likely that Microsoft will go with AMD once again.

As of now, very little is known about the next generation Xbox console. Stay tuned for all the latest news and updates on the system.
